Role Overview
As a Process Excellence Engineer, you will lead the implementation and sustenance of structured improvement systems like 5S and Lean practices directly on the shopfloor.
This is a hands-on execution role, where you will work closely with plant teams to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and drive a culture of operational excellence.
What You Will Do
1. Drive 5S Implementation
- Lead end-to-end deployment of all 5S pillars
- Identify improvement zones through audits and red-tagging
- Build visual workplaces using labels, markings, and SOP displays
- Establish audit systems to sustain improvements
2. Own Shopfloor Execution
- Work full-time at the plant with production teams
- Conduct daily Gemba walks and track abnormalities
- Run review meetings and ensure action closure
- Build ownership among operators and supervisors
3. Improve Processes Using Lean Thinking
- Map processes (Value Stream Mapping / Flow Analysis)
- Identify waste (Muda) and inefficiencies
- Conduct root cause analysis (Why-Why, Fishbone, Pareto)
- Implement improvements to reduce time, motion, and handling losses
4. Track Performance & Impact
- Define and monitor KPIs (audit scores, productivity, time savings)
- Build dashboards for management visibility
- Quantify business impact of improvements
5. Build Capability on the Ground
- Train teams on 5S and Lean practices
- Conduct workshops and awareness sessions
- Drive behavioral and cultural change
6. Standardize & Sustain
- Create SOPs for improved processes
- Implement visual controls and audit systems
- Ensure continuous improvement cycles
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and waste elimination
- Knowledge of process mapping and root cause analysis
- Exposure to FMCG / Food manufacturing is a plus
Behavioral Traits
- Strong execution mindset (you like being on the shopfloor)
- Ability to influence teams and drive ownership
- High accountability and problem-solving approach
- Data-driven thinking
Qualifications
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or related fields
- 1–4 years of relevant experience
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
